Lyric explanation: The animals we consume as “food” are literally raped into existence and denied the right to their own individuality. Due to social conditioning, industry marketing and a total cognitive disconnect; They are degraded to the point that they are not even considered a living being and they are viewed solely as a product, a number, an expiry date - Something to fill the inside of a sandwich, or to fry on a BBQ/hotplate. Their experience of pain, suffering, love, fear and many other emotions are completely disregarded and blatantly ignored. The “They were bred to be killed and eaten, so who gives a fuck?” kind of attitude.
We have reached a point as human beings where greed, selfishness and ignorance has taken over. We think it is acceptable to raise these living beings inside industrial sheds and deprive them of the very basic rights that ANY living being (human or non-human) deserve, such as natural/adequate food, clean water, fresh air, sunlight and the right to live a life free of pain, fear and suffering. Once we have consumed this death and suffering, we pass what remains of their exploited bodies into the toilet bowel and repeat, repeat, repeat. We have reached the height of gluttony that we will throw their dead bodies in the trash once our stomachs are too full, as if their life is worth nothing. When they reach the kill floor of a slaughterhouse, they will scream, kick, cry and fight for their lives. Some even try to escape. But they will never defeat a human with a knife intended to slit their throat. Will you hear their cries? Can you put a price on another’s life?
